Overview

Enjoy a full-day guided tour from Chengdu that combines giant panda bears with Dujiangyan Irrigation System. Get great photo ops of China’s furry ambassadors at the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base while watching the adorable pandas. Then proceed to visit Dujiangyan Irrigation System, a project older than the Great Wall.

Day 1 Chengdu - Pandas and Dujiangyan Irrigation System

Your guide will greet you in your hotel lobby at 09:00am. Then it's a 1.5 hour-drive to Dujiangyan. You will first visit the Panda Center where you can witness the conservation efforts being made to save this endangered species. Pandas look adorable with amazing body movements. They are bred and protected in the base. You can get quite close to them, watching them at play, eating, napping, and munching bamboo.
This afternoon you will visit the nearby Dujiangyan irrigation system – be sure to fully charge you devices, views are what we call film/battery killer! It’s a beautiful park where we will see the old bridges, temples, locals and if we are lucky we could even see the snow mountain by distance. After thorough exploration, return to your comfortable vehicle and relax during the drive back to Chengdu, where the tour concludes.
